The Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) is expected to change how we live, work, and communicate.
It is also likely to change the things we value and the way we value them in the future. Presently, we can already see changing business models and employment trends. According to The World Economic Forum, an estimated 65% of kids enrolling in primary education today will end up working in jobs that haven’t been created yet. Automation and artificial intelligence are change agents in 4IR that will make certain groups of employees redundant, replacing them with new workers with the needed skills or with machines that do the job cheaper.
Program description
This program provides students with understanding of IR4.0 and its 9 pillars.
What do the Apple Watch, Nest thermostat, Amazon Echo, and the Pebble smartwatch have in common? They're all "things" in the Internet of Things, a worldwide network of soon-to-be- 40 Billion devices communicating with each other, the cloud and our phones. This course will lead you through the design, development and prototyping of a representative "Thing" and show you how to prepare to launch a crowd funding campaign to finance production.

Data Analytics
Data analytics is also known as data analysis.
Data analytics refers to qualitative and quantitative techniques and processes used to enhance productivity and business gain. Data is extracted and categorized to identify and analyze behavioral data and patterns, and techniques vary according to organizational requirements.
Harvard Business Review declared Data Scientist as the sexiest job of the 21st century. As per the McKinsey report, US will face the largest shortage of data science professionals – around 190, 000 professionals by 2018. Even PwCemphasized that data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts are going to be in great demand. But, Canada is also going to face a serious shortage (~19, 000) in the big data analytics domain within the same timeframe.
